    Asian Development Bhutan: The Asian Development Bank (ADB) plays a crucial role in Bhutan by providing financial assistance, technical expertise, and policy advice to support the country’s development goals. ADB’s involvement in Bhutan covers various sectors and areas of development. The ADB works with Bhutan to strengthen healthcare systems, expand healthcare facilities, and improve public health outcomes. Projects may focus on building hospitals, upgrading medical equipment, and enhancing healthcare services. The ADB provided 4 million USD in grant support for this HIS flagship project.

    World Health Organization Country Office, Bhutan: The World Health Organization (WHO) plays a significant role in Bhutan by collaborating with the Bhutanese government to support and improve public health and healthcare systems in the country. The WHO supports the development and improvement of health data and information systems in Bhutan. This includes efforts to enhance data collection, analysis, and reporting to inform healthcare decision-making. The WHO also encourages and supports health research and innovation in Bhutan. This includes research on health issues relevant to the country and the adoption of innovative approaches to healthcare delivery. Realizing the importance of this health flagship IT project, WHO also supported the cause by supporting TA, capacity development, manpower and equipment.
